What is the best state for registering a Sea Ray?

I'm not sure where to post this, but I'm hoping someone has some insight and can help me figure out if I can avoid paying a fortune in boat taxes. I've seen mentions of New Hampshire and Florida. Has anyone registered a boat there?

Pretty sure new hampshire has no sales tax, and Florida caps sales tax on boats. But if you live in another state too, you just might need to register the boat there too and pay taxes, so its best to check all applicable state's policies and maybe consult a tax pro just to be a 100% sure, these taxes arent a joke

Why are you looking to avoid taxes through another state, are you planning to keep the boat there, or just hoping to lower costs while using it elsewhere?

As far as I know, to avoid fines and penaltis you'll need to register the boat where you live or where you plan to use it, so you don't have too many options.

I was looking for ways to lower costs while planning to use the boat primarily in my local area. The whole idea might have been too good to be true and I want to make sure all my ducks are in a row.
