seeking hull thickness information for transducer installation on 2004 Sea Ray Sundancer 300

I intend to equip my 2004 Sea Ray Sundancer 300 with 5.0L engines with a new transducer for an upgraded Garmin Fishfinder. Although I've located the ground and power connections, I'm not sure how thick the hull is underneath the engine compartment, which is important for installing the transducer correctly.

Does anyone know how thick my model's hull is in this area? Alternatively, could you share your experience and any insights if someone has successfully installed a transducer here?
 
The hull thickness under the engine compartment is usually around 1 to 1.5in, tho it can vary slightly by build. Owners have successfully mounted in hull transducers in that area, but its crucial to avoid any core or air gaps. Do a water test first to confirm signal quality. If in doubt, best call Sea Ray support or check a service manual to be a 100% sure.
 
To add, the 1-1.5 inch hull thickness under the engine compartment is a pretty good rule of thumb for many fiberglass boats of that size and era but checking with Sea Ray directly or a service manual would certainly give you peace of mind. Doing that water test with the transducer in a bag of water first is like a dry run that saves a lot of headaches later on. Remember, you want a truly clear shot through the hull without any bubbles or obstructions.
