Low RPM and speed after installing Reman 5.7 EFI in my 99 260 Sundancer

I just installed a reman 5.7 EFI engine in my '99 260 Sundancer, at wide-open throttle, I'm only hitting about 3800 RPM and a top speed of 32 mph. I'm running a 2.2:1 drive with 22-pitch props, it feels pretty low to me, what do you all think?

yep, that's definitely low! You should be closer to 4400-4800 RPM. Your 22pitch props are almost certainly too much. I'd drop to a 20 or even 19pitch to get that engine revving where it should be. Have you checked fuel pressure or ignition timing since the swap?

Yeah I'll look into swapping to a 19 or 20 pitch prop and double-check fuel pressure and ignition timing

That does sound a bit low, it could be over-propped or maybe the engine's not making full power yet

Yeah, that's what I was thinking too, might still be breaking in, but I'm also wondering if 22-pitch is too much for the 2.2:1 ratio with this setup
